This is the first in a series of dime novel fiction/adventures from Pinnacle. Despite its garish (and great) cover featuring Santa Claus and Rudolph battling zombies, it's an exciting adventure.

The adventure has the posse hired to rescue a man's son from a cult. The cult is more then it seems, it ends up, and the posse has to deal with a well-heeled gunslinger and a black magician.

As a beginning scenario, it makes an excellent introduction to Deadlands. The adventure is difficult, though doable, and should keep the posse on their toes most of the time. The fiction itself shows a good representation of how hucksters and Harrowed work in the Weird West.

At $4.95 a pop, you can't go wrong with the Deadlands Dime Novels.

Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
Substance: 4 (Meaty)
