Hey, I'm not the first one to review it, so don't look at me. Pinnacle Entertainment Group's game Deadlands use poker decks for a number of different actions. However, they require 54 card decks with a black and red joker - not always a guaranteed thing to have lying around the house. Everybody knows also how much of a pain in the butt it can be when your decks of cards get mixed up. So PEG fixed that problem. The PEG Deadlands Double Poker Deck is two 54 card decks, each featuring a different color border (one white, one black) to make for easy seperating. The face cards also include famous NPCs from the Deadlands universe, from Ronan Lynch to Dr. Darious Hellstromme. The suits are subtly different as well. Instead of having the standard poker heart, spade, club, and diamond, the cards feature a bloody heart freshly from the chest of a victim, a shovel, an Indian warclub, and a burning hunk of ghost rock. I've really enjoyed using the deck and have in fact used them more out of my Deadlands game then in it (partly a testimony to how often I can get my group together). They've held up well, even through various drunken games, and are a definite attention getter. The only problem with them is the price - $15. That's definitely a nice hunk of change for two poker decks, but if you're a Deadlands fan, or even just a fan of unusual poker cards, they're definitely worth it.
Style: 5 (Excellent!)
