Exodus is the third alien source book for Conspiracy X. This book deals with the various tribes of Saurians, and why they are on earth. The Saurian history is quite long, but they have reached a level of technology that is not much more advanced then our own. Even though Saurian technology is not that far from are own, it appears very alien. The Saurian tribes are not at peace with each other, and humanity is destined to be caught in their war.
The Oneirophatoi, or Dreamspeakers, tribe has been on earth for 2500 years. Unlike other Saurians, the Dreamspeakers have decided to coexist with humans. Although they have taken the form of humans, they maintain strong ties to their own heritage. The Dreamspeakers are the only Saurians, that have developed psychic powers, so far. They are hoping that they can keep a major war from starting, between humans and the alien races, that have come to earth. Although Saurian history begins over 65 million years ago, they have lost a large portion of that time, due to cryogenics, and a space time anomaly. They had many tribal wars, until only eight dominate tribes emerged. The Gna-Tall tribe has a government based on a Thearchy. This religion eventually forced the other seven tribes to either stand with them or against them. This religious war led to the destruction of their civilizations. The Saurians that are now arriving on earth are the only survivors of this great race. Due to the space time anomaly, most of the Saurians still consider themselves at war. When the rest of the Saurians arrive, in the near future, war is sure to come. Saurian technology is fusion and plasma based. They have managed to make major breakthroughs in matter/energy conversion, and engine designs. Matter/energy conversion has led to body morphing. Due to body morphing the lizard like Saurians can appear as Men in Black. Humanity will reach Saurian spacecraft, weapons, and stealth technology in the near future, but the Saurians are trying to stay ahead of them, any way they can. The Kath-Yal tribe has even combined their technology with Atlantian technology. The adventure, provided in the back of the book, turns a simple surveillance job, into a sudden chase, that will require some fast thinking. The adventure is well written and can be adopted into an existing campaign with easy. Enough information is provided, that most contingencies are covered. The ending allows for the PC's to gain some advance technology, if the players can keep it from being destroyed. Most of the pictures are very good. I found the book well organized, and informative. It would be hard to use Saurians in a campaign without this source book. Because of the many Saurian tribes, a campaign could encounter the Saurians for the first time, more then once. I defiantly recommend this book for all Conspiracy X GM's.
Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
