Children o' the Atom is the sourcebook for the Doomsayers--a group of strange radiation priests who worship the Glow.
First off, this book is great! We have the radiation shield pulled back so as to get the lowdown on the Doomsayers, new Edges, Hindrances, Doomsayer Miracles, and an adventure "Doom Comes to Frogtown"! The art by Thomas Biondolillo, Tom Fowler, Ashe Marler, and Kevin Sharpe was wonderful--this is some of the best art in a supplement since Brainburners. The cover art is beautiful by itself...great for framing! The "Tales o'Doom" section was well-written--giving us the history of the Cult of Doom, the Schismatics, PLUS a new school of Doomsayers: the Hekants! The Marshall's section of the book was the part of Pinnacle's sourceooks this reviewer enjoyed, because it gives you the true gist on what's going on. You won't get any secrets here, so you'll just have to buy the book if you want in on the info! Now for the bad...a LOT of typos plague the book--moreso than most. Some of the miracles are low cost for their power, and some are just not for PCs, because they are WAY too powerful! And why couldn't the archetypes be in color this time? In conclusion, the good outweighs the bad as usual in this sourcebook, making Children o' the Atom a worthwhile buy!
Style: 5 (Excellent!)
