Brainburners brings us back into the wasted west of Pinnacle's new RPG--Deadlands: Hell on Earth. This time, more light is shed on the Sykers...people with the strange abilities of the mind. In this sourcebook, we get new Hindrances, Edges, Powers, Gear, and a nifty adventure in the back! Also, we get a look on how the sykers fared during the Faraway War, more on what happened to the Unity, and even more foreshadowing for Deadlands: Lost Colony. It's everything one would expect from the people at Pinnacle Entertainment Group.
Unfortunately, not everyone will get Brainburners simply for the reason of "It's a Background book, so since I don't play a Syker, I don't want it." A real shame, too, due to the fact it's a well-written book. Fans of Deadlands should pick up a copy regardless of whether or not they'll play a Syker. Also, typos plague the book. The Strain for the Assassin archtype is wrong, there is a cost of "Special" for Telekinesis, but no numerical cost! Still, these (and other typos) are trivial, and Pinnacle will undoubtedly release errata for Brainburners on their website. Brainburners is a worthy addition to the Hell on Earth library, and is higly recommended. Available now at your local gaming store!
