Vampires, Werewolves, Mages and Changelings and all sorts of supernatural creatures.. most of us have played at least one of them, and some of us were luckier still and were able to see the World Of Darkness from the eyes of many of those beings.. but now the time has come to see it from the eyes of the proffessionals, trained to track and research and destroy, or control and manipulate such beings.. You are a government agent, and your work is the paranormal..
It sounds enticing, does it not? It is, indeed. It isn't? Who cares, there is still A LOT in this book that you could use for an ongoing World Of Darkness game? Like what? here goes: First of all, this book is almost a must for any game set in Northern America. The book is divided into two parts, each giving information about the Intelligence Agencies of the United States. The first part gives brief game system information on creating Project Twilight characters, and immense information about the key personalities of the Agencies, and how much each agency knows about the supernatural.. from the players' eyes. That means? That means the second part, intended for Story Teller eyes only, and details all the conspiracy and manipulation going on behind the scenes.. starting from the personal dealings of the important personalities with the supernatural, and leading towards each agencies behind-the-covers goals.. how everything relates to Kindred, Garou and Technocracy... Beautiful.. You won't play a government agents game? FINE! This book is a great supplement for *any* game system, whenever the players get cocky.. when the last victim's neck wound wasn't licked clean.. when a patch of fur was left with the torn body.. when vulgar magick was witnessed by an unawakened crowd.. it includes numerous and incredibly interesting, and immensely deep and enjoyable twists to add to any story. Some of the ideas inside have absolutely impressed me.. There is so much information in there that you could sit and really (unlike Hunters Hunted, which is in my opinion too weak on the information side of things..) start, and keep playing a very long and enjoyable hunter game. The art inside is at some points first class, but for such a great book, I would have expected much better, really. Why haven't I given it full score on Substance? because the book ends with a sample story in the end.. and yes, it is not a bad story, actually it is very creative, but personally I would have liked 20 more pages of information so I *myself* could come up with good stories.. All in all, Project Twilight is mostly intended for Story Tellers, and a must add to every World Of Darkness Story Teller's arsenal of quirk-books. "Surveillance, Awareness, Defense" -SAD motto
