  • OVERVIEW: The party continues the adventure that began with Evil Tide. Once the statue was taken from the caverns on Angler Island the party must take the statue beyond the reach of the Sahuagin. The ship is attacked by storm and by creature and destroyed that the party was transporting the statue and the party left to drown. Fortunately an sun-manned ship floats past and the party is able to board before they drown. The ship is manned only by the dead and the party must explore the ship and find the means to navigate it. The brave adventurers must then dive into the depths of the sea and explore ancient temples the Sahuagin currently guard. During this the party rescues a sea elf  (actually a malenti) that will later lead the party to the next module in the series Sea of Blood.
  • PROS: As with the previous module in this Arcana series they author keeps things simple leaving the greater detail to the DM. The adventure on the ship of the dead is quite nice and gives a slight change from the underwater combat scenario. The module is simple to read and easy to prepare for play.
  • CONS: At some points (the destruction of the ship transporting the statue, the arrival of the ghost ship) the module is scripted. These things must occur for the adventure to continue and if a smart group avoids these things it might be hard for the DM to work the changes into the existing module. Some of the more intense combats are held completely underwater. Long sessions underwater will indeed weaken the party and use of most (if not all) of the water breathing/survival items. This happens more so on the second half of the adventure after the Ghost Ship.

Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
Substance: 4 (Meaty)
