Usually, I'm not to keen on pre-written adventures. I often find that they are doing a bad job when it comes to capturing the feel of the game it is supposed to be written for.
Therefore it was with some scepticism I opened the rather thin booklet titled X-Men: Who goes there? My scepticism was soon replaced with curiousity, which later evolved into the firm point of view that this is a good product. Then, why is it so? First of all, the adventures within are varied in both length, plot and mood. At the same time, all eight adventures succeed in capturing the feel of some specifik part of the X-men/ Mutant comics. The different adventures include such diverce elements as the Brood, Sentinels, a historical adventures featuring the original X-Men and last but not least, a solo adventure with the lovely dragon Lockheed, where he encounters some faeries on Muir Island celebrating midsummers night. The book is well written, not outstanding, but it is still a good read. The adventures are laid out in a manner so that they are easily read without to much confusion. Finaly I found the book to be inspiring when it comes to writing my own adventures since it gives me a lot of ideas of what you can do with the Marvel Super Heroes Adventure Game.
