This is how it's done, gang. This is how you write a world atlas.

Life on Terra Nova, as with the Heavy Gear rulebook, didn't need a revision. Dream Pod 9 gave it one anyway, and the results mirror that of the rulebook. The result is a book that's almost perfect- only a series of typos mar this book's beauty. Fortunately, a simple revision isn't all that DP9 included.

As with the rulebook, this book includes a chapter devoted to a single region. With Life on Terra Nova, that region is Port Arthur- home away from home for the remnants of the Colonial Expeditionary Force from Earth that invaded Terra Nova a generation ago. It's a hotbed of unrest, intrigue and covert operations. Unlike the other regions, this has consequences for all of Terra Nova; if the conspiracies based here succeed, then another invasion is certain and this time Earth will be ready. Also included is information on the GRELs used against Terra Nova; when equipped, they're lethal- the shocktroopers are equal to a well-armed scout Gear.

Port Arthur heads a coalition. "Nu Coal", as its named, centers around Port Arthur and includes Prince Gable, Lance Point, Temple Heights and Fort Neil. This isn't the only such confederation. A chapter devotes itself to this topic, naming and describing (in brief) every political entity on the planet- including the border territories/protectorates of the AST and the CNCS. Updates on certain locations present themselves. Explanations of notable political movements are also found here.

How did they come about? That's covered by the history chapter. It covers the whole of Terra Nova's future history, from the 21st century on Earth all the way to the current era. This context clearly casts the current Earth government as a neo-facist state with severe imperialist ambitions. The chapter also gives the reader glimpses of other settled worlds, such as New Jerusalem- homeworld of the Roman Catholic Church.

The rest of the book goes over geography, timekeeping, popular culture, popular customs and everything you need to know should you desire to immerse yourself into Terra Nova and make it your second home.

For Heavy Gear, there are two essential supplements. The first is the GM Pack/Screen. This is the second. Everything else is optional, but highly recommended.
