I count myself lucky to have gained a pre-release copy of this book, It is by far the best GURPS supplement I have read so far, with the possible exception of GURPS Russia (which is another review, for another time). It is a very original concept: Magic and Technology in our modern day!

In a nutshell: the Trnity test on 16 July, 1945 (the first atomic test, for those of you who aren't history monsters like me) devastated the desert test region and left a swirling tornado of magical energy! The enchanted fallout landed all over the southwest and transformed the world.

New magical races developed (not your typical elves an' orcs either!) and people gained the ability to use magic. As the back of the book aptly puts it: "Magic had come to the 20th Century. But just like the atom on our own Earth, it would prove a Pandora's box." This book is not only an excellent campaign setting (and it's GURPS, so it's easy to use for anything) it's also a fantastic read!

Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
Substance: 5 (Excellent!)
