In the previous edition of Rolemaster, the rulebook held the campaign rules as well as the character rules. In the new edition, this material fell under the axe. All of the rules from the old book fell in with material from the many Companions and became the new Standard Rules. The campaign text coupled with material from other books and became a new book- Campaign Law.
This book has two parts. The latter half has the rule-oriented stuff, and it is very concise, complete and extensive. No GM would be hurt by taking what they need from it. But that is not the real value in this product. That belongs to the first half, which is the single best textbook for GMs yet published. It does its best to be useful, helpful and generic and it delievers in spades. Yes, you should get a copy. Even if you hate Rolemaster, fantasy gaming or ICE you should get yourself a copy. The front half alone is worth the price of admission; you will not be disappointed.
Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
