Rolemaster's new Spell Law received the same sort of treatment that Arms Law did. They coupled the spell attack tables with the appropriate critical charts, and they included the Resistance Roll chart for the non-attack spells. Again, the layout change alone is a big improvement for this book.

That's not all. In addition to the Open, Closed and Base Lists for all three Realms of Power and for all of the base spell-using Professions the book includes the base lists for the Alchemist, Seer and Astrologer. These professions are excluded from the new core rules, but they're used in certain ICE settings-- Middle-Earth, for example-- so the notes are worth having.

This book, together with Arms Law and the Standard Rules, comprise the trilogy of rulebooks for the new edition of Rolemaster. Your best bet, if you wish to have the complete system, is to order the Rolemaster 3-in-1 package. (For $65 (US) you get all three in a slip-case; buying them separately is more expensive.)

Go ahead. Get a copy, and leave me a place at the gaming table.
