The Shadowrun Companion | ||
This is the supplement that should have come out several years ago--
as in, right after SRII. It contains optional rules on everything from
training costs/time to alternative character-generation systems
to rules for running shapeshifters, DocWagon teams, and more. My personal favorite part of the book is the Edges and Flaws system, which allows you to add advantages (Edges) and disadvantages (Flaws) to your character. As a player and GM with a strong emphasis on roleplaying, I found these rules helped me and the rest of our group to finally get some concrete benefit for fleshing out our characters. Though the system works best for beginning characters, it can easily be incorporated into an existing campaign. Thanks, FASA, for finally putting out this book. I like most of the other sourcebooks, but it's about time you filled in the cracks in the main rules! This book was worth waiting for.
Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
