Sovereign Stone Game System, Hardcover Edition

The Sovereign Stone role-playing game is presented in this lasting hardcove= r edition. Old Vinnengael: City of Sorrows

Old Vinnengael was the greatest city in Loerem, 200 years ago. Journey back in time before the events described in the Sovereign Stone Game System rulebook, to when King Tamaros brought the four races of Loerem together in a troubled peace. Witness the ascension of humble knights to powerful Dominion Lords, see the presentation of the Sovereign Stone itself to its caretakers, and see how a young prince watches his father with envy and his older brother with hatred. This sourcebook provides a wealth of information necessary for running a campaign in Old Vinnengael, and includes ways to link adventures in the City of Sorrows to "present day" Loerem. Old Vinnengael also serves as a companion book to the places, characters, and events described in The Well of Darkness by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman= , first of the Sovereign Stone Trilogy, from HarperCollins Publishers.

The Taan

The Taan were unknown in Loerem until they appeared without warning in Dunkarga, attacking for no apparent reason. They are brutal savages with leathery skin, long fangs, and sharp claws. Taan practice dangerous and forbidden Void Magic through ritual scarring and by embedding gemstones beneath their flesh. By the command of their dark god, they slaughter their enemies and feast upon the remains of the greatest opposing warriors. Introduced at GenCon 1998, this 24 page booklet has been re-edited and updated in line with the Sovereign Stone Hardcover Edition. It is a great introduction to the worlds of role-playing and Loerem for the beginning player. A short story by Margaret Weis is included, as are the Sovereign Stone basic rule system, four pre-generated characters and an adventure for players to try out a new and dangerous world.
