October 1, 1996: Post-Con fallout and not that many new games |
Hello. It's the start of fall. Most of the games out seem to be the
"we previewed at GenCon and have finally delivered" (Deadlands, for
example, hit shops.
Chameleon Eclectic's
B-5 game is slightly delayed (1 month), not that far off from their
original release date.
Feedback is coming in for
TSR's "Saga" system
and the Dragonlance game. I haven't played it yet, so I can't contribute
directly, but I thought I'd toss out mention since it _is_ something new
from TSR.
Oddly enough, most of the indy magazines (Familiar,
Shadis, etc)
are running reviews of old (or older) games, that came out long ago.
Are we still in the famine years?
Meanwhile, on RPG.Net, things are tricky here.
Our site is shifting ISPs, so while the new name
propogates, things are a bit tricky, but hopefully we're stable enough,
and we will be blazingly faster on the new site (and have less downtime!)
Once we get that fixed, we can get back to fun stuff, like building the
encyclopedia. That's it for this month, though if new products come out,
I'll be able to actually _review_ something next time.
