Every player starts the game with the same amount of money to spend on luxuries and recognitions, but whoever spends the most money loses, no matter what they collected!
High Society is based on the same very successful MobileEuroCard gaming engine that was used in Reiner Knizia's Money, also produced by RPGnet. Simple gestures allow you to examine your own hand and the bids of your opponents. Everything is animated, for a colorful play experience.
Additionally, four different AIs, each with their own personality, help make every game unique. You can slowly discover the AIs' strategies to improve your chances of winning.
High Society is the second release in RPGnet's MobileEuroCard series. Once you know how to play one game, you'll understand the interface of all of them!
You can buy Reiner Knizia's High Society at the iPhone store.
Reiner Knizia’s High Society is played as a series of auctions. Each round a card will be put up for auction. Most are either yellow luxury cards or red recognition cards.
Auctioning: An auction can contain several turns where you must either bid money or pass. To bid, touch individual cards, then touch the ‘Bid’ button. In later rounds you may add cards to your current bid. To pass, touch the ‘Pass’ button. Once you do, you’re out for the round. The last person in an auction pays out his bid and wins the auctioned item.
Misfortunes: There are also three misfortunes in the deck: a yellow -5 scandal; a red mansion fire which halves your luxury score; and a blue thief which steals your best luxury.
Bid for a misfortune as usual, but the first player to pass gets it, and everyone else pays.
Reiner Knizia’s High Society is built on RPGnet’s MobileEuroCard gaming system. It shares an interface with other RPGnet games, including the ability to always touch your screen to get more info.
Touch the Draw Deck to see how many cards are left, touch your Score to see everyone’s winnings, touch a Drawn Card to see what it does, and more.
The game ends as soon as the fourth red card is drawn. The person with the least money left is immediately eliminated! Among the remaining players, the one with the highest score wins.
Your score is the sum of your luxury cards times the value of your red cards.
After you're done playing a game you can go to the "Scores" page from the main menu. It'll show you stats for each of the players and also who has the top twenty scores: you or the computer players.
