Security
|
Good security is a shared responsibility. It's not about risk-- it's
about trust, and making sure that visitors see what you made for them,
no more, no less. We try to keep private things private while making
web things easy for both creators and visitors to find. Thus 'home'
and 'web' files are kept separate.
In response to queries, we've also provided a more general
security primer for the average computer
user, good luck and be safe!

Site Layout
|
The basic 'architecture' of the site is that each user has a home
directory and a web directory, and also a place to put cgibin scripts.

Unix Primer
|
A basic description of the unix/linux operating system that RPGnet
uses. If you use the ssh/telnet shells or ftp, or like to manipulate
your files directly on RPGnet, knowing unix is helpful. Unix is a
bit like old-style DOS.

|
Basic web design
|
The default file found in any given RPGnet directory is 'index.html'.
CGIbin files should end in '.cgi' or '.pl' to work properly. For
more web design help, there are plenty of web-wide resource.
