This was certainly an interesting article. The author's knowledge of the Greek concepts of what was defined as a "hero" is quite good, and the subject is one I've been itching to see if anyone would pick up for discussion. I look forward to reading more of it.
My own opinion is that the author is right about how not all good guys are heroes. Take Robin Hood; in any other vein, he's just a petty crook. Without the motive of robbing only the rich in order to help the poor, it's just another crime story.
However, I am more interested to see what conclusions about this the author draws, if any are made at the end of all this...
