The first motive I think a columnist ought to have is a desire to share, and that requires communication. When people consistently complain that they find you impossible to understand, you ought to want to change your style. Sadly, this columnist doesn't seem to have really changed. This final(?) installment is pretty much a stream-of-consciousness article. There is a reason why stream of consciousness isn't used that much in fiction or anything else - it's generally recognized as difficult to follow.
