 Global vs. Personal

Although not very wll presented in the article, this is a concept I have thought about myself. It's not a nature (what you really are) and demeanor (what you present to other people) situation. It's more that what YOU think is lawful OTHERS think is chaotic. For example...a character follows a rigid code of conduct. Some of the strictures, however, are things such as an eye for an eye (which could result in killing) and other such activites. To the character, he is lawful because he lives his life stricly by those rules. But to most others the very rules themselves seem chaotic. So is the character lawful or chaotic? A global versus personal system would solve this problem. For D&D a decision would have to be made as to which is the TRUE alignment for purposes or spells and planes.
