just to clear it up, that subject is in response to me posting under the name "WithHeld". I'm by no means a "regular poster" on rpg.net, but i have put my 2 cents in before, and I'm doing it now. I'm leaving out my name b/c i'll look like an imature ass trying to be cool when i write whats comming up, but i only use it to preface my point.
I have an IQ of 145. I'm writting this at my lunch break at my job at NASA (USA's air & space agancy if your not from 'round here'). I'm a devout catholic who's studied buddist and a few related easter fillosiphies durring much of my younger teenage years while studing martial arts. My friends know me as open minded and always willing to help, i may be an ass while i do it, but i'll still try to help. Every standardized test I've ever taken has put me in the top 95% for reading comprehension. And i can't spell for carp. Don't think of this as a flame, because its not. its constructive critisim. I hope you accept it as such. I sign all my flames.
Coilean, I've read your articles, and all the postings since you've started, and I haven't gotten a damn thing out of them. I want to, but you seem to mire your points in mysterious ambiguity that, and it doesn't look like i'm the only one who thinks so, destroys your column. I think you have an idea, otherwise you'd never be motivated to write these columns.
the current column "secrets" had particular interest to me. I just started in a gamming group that always keeps secrets. I saw post titles like "much better" or "a big improvement" or something, so I was excited. Well, it was better, I was able to read through it in just one try, but that was it.
I think in the future, don't try to trick you audiance into figuring it out on their own. tell them what you thing straigh out. you've said things in your post like (paraphrase) 'i'd have to go into my whole paradigm to explaine that'. go into it, because you've completely destroyed any Ethos you may have built up with that. And when someone ask a direct question, please answer staight out. more ambiguious guidance doesn't help.
Oh, and its the internet. God invented it for jerks to spout off with ananimty. don't take stuff personal. If it wasn't for your past, obviously P.O.'ed post, i wouldn't even have mentioned that this is intended as constructive critism. I've seen you flip out at it before.
