...at least to me, this reads like "Play all characters gender-neutral and toss in a couple gender-specific minor things from time to time."

Here's a deeper challange: You have a character named "Terry". Without stereotyping or lapsing into cliche, tell us how to play the character so that other people know the gender without being told.

Otherwise, "a difference that makes no difference is no difference". If I play my female Jedi exactly the same as I'd play a male Jedi, then I'm not playing a female.

How do I play a female character truly (I'm male btw) without cliche or stereotype, but also not playing as a male in a woman's body?
