Nicely done article.
In fact, I'd like to see you do a full article on each of the types mentioned.
I think (YMMV) that the Prince, especially, is well worth going into greater detail about. The Prince is probably the best "almost real life" type of Grand Campaign Villian; the history of Earth has occasional Psychopaths in charge of nations, but our history is FULL of examples of the old truism, "power corrupts". A Prince can be a powerhungry politician in a nation with "free" elections as well as someone born to power. All you need is, on top of the conviction that "I'm the best for the job", the conviction that "Power rightfully belongs to those who can take and keep it". (Note the word 'rightfully'.)
I think most of us recognize that a strong, competant antagonist makes the struggle more worthwhile. I also think things just work better for GM and player alike on a wide variety of levels when your master villian has a more complex motivation than "I'm Evil! MWAHAHAHAHA!"
And by moving the pointer along the scale from "Uncorrupt" to "Corrupt" you can set the 'grey scale' on your campaign.
I look forward to seeing more.
