It just struck me that a combination of the "dark" and "hell" paths could very well be seen as a form of Buddhism. "Life is suffering, but there is a way to end that suffering." It would be interesting to see source material for Buddhist / Taoist Nobles who don't see the paths of "Hell" and the "Dark" as evil at all. Quite the contrary, the paths of "Light" (attachment to things) and "Heaven" (gaining things without earning them) would be seen as corruptive, undesirable, and cowardly.
Of course, the names "Dark" and especially "Hell" would have to be changed. Perhaps the path of "Dark" could become "Silence" as opposed to "Noise" and Hell could become "Pain" as opposed to "Comfort." Or perhaps, at least in their own eyes, "Truth" as opposed to "Illusion."
There is actually quite a lot of Taoist philosophy on the "Primal Dark" which sounds very much like the "Dark" that Ms. Borgstrom describes. I will post some references if anyone is interested.
Anyway, just thought that the correspondence was cool.
