Your mention to the fact that Willpower has no effect on true hypnotism is contrary to the facts, as I've learned them, anyway. We studied this in my intro to PSYC class. It was conceded that, while hypnotism is a real phenomenon, the mere fact that we refuse to believe in it, or refuse to acknowledge that it works on us causes it to fail. In other words, if I believe that you cannot hypnotize me, then you cannot hypnotize me. Hypnotism requires a somewhat willing, or at least believing, victim in order to work.
Or at least, so says my Psyc professor and Psyc book.
