 Literary Adventure Pacifism

For a great sf adventure story juxtaposing the values and methods of pacifists versus mercenaries try Gordon Dickson's novella "Lost Dorsai." The protagonist has to find a way to be a true Dorsai(most kickass mercs in the galaxy)and to be faithful to his own pacifist creed. Great story and some things to think about.
