Just to be upfront, Gareth, I haven't had the opportunity to read the columns for a while, and now that I have a phone line and a computer again, I've been slowly reading through them to get up to date.
Which means I'm almost sure that someone may have mentioned this already - I mean, all of my other comments of late have been repeats :) stupid me :)
Anyway, I just finished reading the talk of Junkmen way back when, and I remembered when you said that Artificers make devices that "burn up" the Radiance, like a non-renewable resource (lots of potential for conflict with others there, ya know). You said that Junkmen can "use their own" power, however, and their their soul can be used as a circuit to tap directly into the Radiance.
Does that mean that a Junkman will, most likely, burn up Radiance by his mere presence? Are they Radiance sink-holes? That could be an itneresting idea, and could be easily used to give them a darker, more antagonistic tone, if you want.
Similarly, can an Artificer steal a soul and use it to power a device without giving it control and making it a Junkman? It sounds like the circuit-soul would be generally useful to the unscrupulous, neh?
I hope it's a new idea, at least ;)
