"Remember, nobody is ever right. But that's okay, because nobody is ever wrong either. There are just different opinions."
Now obviously there are going to be people who dispute that statement. In fact I suspect that they will argue against it quite vehemently that this is too simplistic a statement. Ironically enough, by doing so they will proving that it is true instead.
----------------------------------
This is, in fact, complete and utter nonsense.
If I argue that that statement is wrong I am not, in fact, proving that it is true. To the contrary, I am proving it false.
Simply put:
1. If the statement is TRUE, then the statement is false -- because someone arguing for that statement to be true would be right (which would contradict the statement).
2. If the statement is FALSE, then the statement is false -- by definition.
Any statement which contradicts itself is a worthless statement.
Another example is the post-structuralist claim that "there is no meaning". The statement "there is no meaning" is, in fact, a meaning. The statement, therefore, must be false.
Thinking like this is rather popular in the ivory towers of the world right now. This is because the ivory towers of the world are habitually filled with morons.
