“Throughout the various discussions that I have read on this topic I have saw a number of interesting opinions, on both sides, a lot of with I do not agree with. I have however noted a trend toward respect and simple civility which you my friend seem to be sorely lacking in. I have read offensive statements from both sides, and I have saw them followed up with apologies as other people have challenged them. I personally have been gratified to know that I would be comfortable sitting around a table with almost anyone here, and that even those who might not appeal to me have brought something to this discussion which provides food for thought.”
That is a quote from a post I wrote on the 16th of August to someone who genuinely made my skin crawl with his views. I only reread it tonight by almost accident, and now I feel more than a little guilty. Caryn, I have been unfair to you at least in terms of the language I have used. I stopped being polite, and said things in a manner you did not deserve. I still stand by the essence of what I have said, and would still like to see a response to the post I had written a few days ago, but I said it wrong. For what its worth I apologise for that
