I was just wondering if the RPG crowd, and especially those doing historical LARP's might be interested in some ideas used by historical reenactors. (I'm more into traditional games myself)Although the focus is more on presenting to the public the mention of a "Ultimate Character Development List" in the book below caught my eye, and there's certainly access to lots of props and costumes form the reenactment community...

"Past to Present: Effective techniques for First-person Historical
Interpretation," by Stacy Flora Roth ISBN 0807847100
Here's what Choice magazine had to say about it:
"A guide to what is commonly
called first-person "living history"--the technique of historical
presentation in which one presents oneself as a historical figure in
the time period in which the figure lived... In 15 chapters Roth aptly summarizes the methods that
will be valuable to the interpreter facing public audiences; topics
include "Breaking the Ice and Encouraging Interaction," "The Act of
Conversation," and "Body Language and Tone of Voice." In addition
Roth includes, as an appendix, "The Ultimate Character Development
List," a series of questions designed to stimulate broad research on
the background of a historical character. "
