Anyway, for those of us who want the look of papyrus without the hassle of pesky papyrus salesmen, all you need is MS Word and a color printer. From the "Format" menu, select "background," then "fill effects," then the "textures" tab. Papyrus is on there, though I must confess I've never tried it myself.
Come to think of it, if you want an "old paper" feel, I'll bet you can find paper making materials in an art store. I've got no idea what that costs, though.
All this brings back memories that have nothing to do with gaming. I studied at the American University in Cairo for a semester back in the early 90's. The papyrus salesmen were legendary in their pushiness. (Look! Real papyrus! Not bannana leaves! I make you good price!) I was so disgusted by the sales tactics that all I brought home were a couple sheets of blank papyrus. I still haven't figured out what to do with those precious sheets.
