 White-Wolf doesn't do horror anymore

Ok, when Vampire first game out it called itself "Gothic Horror" which did draw alot of new people into the game because of the "edge" this game seemed to have. But I don't think it was ever really a horror game like Call of Cthulhu was. From this year Origins awards comes proof that Vampire was meant to be more light-hearted and fun

"Mark Rein*Hagan accepted the award and mentioned how the game grew out of his excitement at seeing the Lost Boys movie".

While Lost Boys is a great movie, it's not scary movie. I think people liked to play "dark" characters without having to roleplay all the emotional baggage that would come from living such a "dark" or "evil" life. All I know at this point is that I have never been scared in a Vampire game, but I've felt fear or horror in a Call of Cthulhu game. I hope this is because I just haven't met a GM yet that can run a scary Vampire game.
