It seems a nifty idea, but if they truly don't use human infrastructure then they'll be relying on their natural weapons, and I have a hard time accepting even a maxed-out humanoid with claws as a match for someone with a gun.

"Any Feral could go toe-to-toe with a forensic pathologist, a CIA spook, an EMT, and a Navy Seal... " Wouldn't the assualt rifle and IR goggles of the SEAL give him an almost insurmountable advantage in combat? Not to mention the fact that he is the beneficiary of formalised training and the collective experience of hundreds of years of military tradition, where without an infrastructure the Ferals will have to learn by trial-and-error.
