With regard to the example, although this has no effect on the mechanics...
I'd just like to point out that if it's daytime, the full moon could not be ``high in the sky''. When the moon is full, it's in part of the sky opposite the sun. That is, it sets at dawn, stays below the horizon all day, then rises again at dusk.
