I actually started crying when I read this article. It was so true to who I was as a child. Sometimes I think back and remember all the rage and confusion and pain of that time. I may have been dangerously close to what those kids at Columbine were. I couldn't think logically I was so messed up. Other times I did come close to suicide.
But comic books and RPGs were a moral force. I think that by playing a strong and moral character, an ideal, I was better able to understand what I was supposed to be. I believe that it is absolutely true when he says RPGs can save lives. I'm not sure if my gaming saved my physical life but it saved a part of me to become a good person later.
I don't know if any of this made sense. But thank you, Steve, for the article and thank you anyone who takes time to read this.
