... but do people realize that roughly same amount of people that died in the WTC die every day in Africa? Is there a difference between office workers who die from an attack than starving children dying of malnutrition, or aids, who's only sin was being born in a poor country?
I encourage everyone to remember the pain and grief we've all felt. Consider that other people around the world face this type of suffering every day. Next time you have a few extra dollars burning a hole in your pocket, remember that they need help too.
I watched the buildings fall live on CNN. I watched those people die. I cried all day, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I donated to help how I can. But, I am saddened it takes such a catastrophic domestic event to encourage people to help eachother.
