Why should I bother with an in depth treatment of fertility and pregnancy in an RPG? For flavor and/or realism? I think this is going too far.
A mother (and a father, too) will change their lifes with the "arrival" of a child. The wild times end. They will dedicate most of their time caring for the baby. Transferred to a game: you don't have time for adventures anymore.
Tne alternative: The child is adopted. But in this case: why bother with pregnancy at all? I don't see any role-playing enhancements there.
(And I don't want to buy any games like: Babies&Diapers, Infants: the raising, Children D20, Mother:The Pregnancy, Pregnancy:The Vomiting... ;) )
Disclaimer:
Incorparating gender issues in an RPG is not my cup of tea. Most characters are treated and played as neutrums (my experience). The society treats women and men equally. I prefer it that way.
