This article really does reveal to me how much you really know and understand. You want to talk about Feminist heroes?
I suggest Judith from the Apocrypha. Or Ruth, or even Rahab. Maybe the mother of Samuel, who gave her son to the Lord. Maybe Mary, Mother of Jesus, who gave birth to the Lord. Sarai, Rachel, Rebekah, Eve, Abigale Addams, Elizra R. Snow, Emma Smith, etc.
Feminism is about making choices. All these women evidently made choices. Sarai was Abram's Neice-turned-Sister (Terah legally adopted her)and married Abram (who was renamed Abraham). Eve ate the apple so that you could experience Mortality, Judith led an assualt against the Assyrians, Abigale Addams advocated women having the power to Vote, Emma Smith chose to be the wife of a Prophet, Rebekah made the choice to marry a young man whome she did not even know! Rahab harbored spies from the Israelites in her house at Jericho.
If these aren't Feminists by the most Strict Interpetation (Women who Make Choices) then I don't know who is. Especially Eve. If Eve did not make that choice to eat the Fruit of Good and Evil, you Hillary, will never, ever know what it is like to be born and to live.
Zipporah was not a pagan in any case. Jethro of Midian was a worshipper and prophet of Jehovah. He would have no doubt taught her the ways of Jehovah.
All women are Feminists by the most Strict interpetation. All Men and Women have been granted Agency to make decisions. Making decisions is what Feminism is all about.
Now there are those who wants to replace what they see as the Tyranny of the American White Heterosexual Male Patriarchy with their own vision. To me, if the Tyranny exists, will be simply exchanging one Tyranny with another. The Tyranny of the American Female Matriarchy.
That is not Feminism, that is straight out Empiricism masquerading as Feminism. Everyone has the power to choose between what is good, and what is evil. No one sex is above the other. Separate, men and women cannot succeed, but together they can accomplish miracles.
So, back to Zipporah. Now, why do you think she became Moses' wife? Its becuase she loved him. Who do you think taught Moses about Jehovah? Zipporah (Women have a lot of influence on the Men who loves them). Why do you think Miriam and Aaron revolted against him? Because Moses is married to an Ethiopian Princess.
Moses was a pagan in the sense that he worshipped Egyptian Gods, even after he he left Egypt. During his time as a Prince of Egypt, he conquered Ethiopia and married the Ethiopian princess. After that, he was cast out and then made his way to Midian. There he met Zipporah, who taught him the ways of Jehovah.
So, Zipporah, who was indeed a foreigner, was not foreign to the religion of the Hebrews.
