 Godlike's interesting take on costumes

Has anyone mentioned Godlike yet, and their rationale for ~not~ giving superheroes snazzy costumes?

Imagine the scene, wartorn France, 1944.

Grey smoke from a thousand artillery shells drifts lazily across the dusty ruins of Caen. At one end of the street, green-brown uniformed Allied soldiers crouch in craters and peer out of first storey windows, rifles gripped tightly in filthy, grease-stained hands. A single Bren sits atop a heap of debris from the collapsed facade of a house, and a rusted, burnt out Deux Chevaux makes up the unit's command post, from which a haggard, stubbled sergeant tries in vain to make radio contact with his commanding officer. A German attack is coming, and the soldiers have heard terrible, terrible rumours...

Meanwhile, a street away stands Der Schlachter, an Ubermensch of unrivalled power, able to corrode steel, flay skin, ignite ammunition, all with just the power of his Talent-enhanced mind. He is Hitler's favourite, a true German superman, pinnacle of evolution, pride of the Aryan race. His recruitment poster looks inspire awe into the common soldiery advancing alongside him. He flexes his muscles and his bodysuit of blood-red spandex bulges. On his chest he wears a brilliant white swastika overlaid with a black laughing skull, while in one hand he bears Breitschwert, his gigantic sword of arcane Thulean power. This blade was forged in the blood of a thousand untermenschen, and has been used to kill over twice as many enemies of the Thousand Year Reich.

'In the name of the people,' he shouts, raising Breitschwert to the sky, 'in the name of the Fatherland, in the name of the Fuhrer, fight! Fight for the sanctity of our race, for the annihilation of the Jew, for the right to call yourself... German!'

The soldiers cheer, ready their Mauser rifles and MP40 machine pistols, and advance on the Allied position, following their terrifying, yet awe-inspiring leader.

Before anyone can yell, 'Belltower!', an Allied sniper drills Der Schlachter right through the eyehole of his mask. He goes down, dead before he hits the ground.

Serves him right for wearing such damn stupid clothes in a warzone.
