Customizing Gripe: "I can't customize my hero"--- Having played for a bit, do you know where the real customization comes from in BNW? Description. My flyer is not like every other flyer. He has this weird variety of skills which set him apart from the other flyer in our group. You know, the team doesn't even realize I am a flyer because I never quite "fly". He seems to run 'pretty' fast, like a speedster. He does this weird set of dodging ala The Matrix. (his body twists and changes directions in ways that are 'almost' inhuman) He does a lot of leaping kicks and punches as he runs up to someone. Even striking someone multiple times while 'airborne'. I "leap" easily from building to building. The party thinks I was allowed to design my own template.Nope, I just stole the 'appearance' of my powers from the Matrix. Can I fly normally? Yes. will I? not if I can make it look like I am doing something else. Heh-he. I know delta prime will be confused.

Note: these are ALL basic tricks for a flyer. Flying Dodge (Matrix dodge), First strike (multi-kick while 'leaping', even wrapping around and hitting from multiple angles). The uniqueness of my character comes from the description of how I use my powers. Sure, we both have some of the same tricks and the exact same powers. So find your uniqueness in how you use your powers, not what they are. (his concept is a sniper. He flies way up with a rifle and scope, maneuvers so he is coming "out of the sun" , and just picks people off. He's not even that good at flying.)

I must say the combat system is awesome. Let's see, we ran a group of 6 heroes fighting a group of 7 villians (prime delta squad) in a crowded park sprinkled with bystanders (some of whom got involved, guns suck). Shook well. Combat Elapsed Real time: 1 hour. That would have been a 'climatic' battle in any other hero game. At least 2 hours. Look, more time to role-play. And there was a lot of 'creative' optioning going on during the combat.
