Being a (college) radio dj, I kinda obsess about music... Also, I have a tendency to think of it on a song by song basis or a scenario by scenario basis, depending upon what I think is appropriate... So here's some ideas I've had...

Specifically, I tend to think a lot about music for battles. So here's some music for the really bloody nasty battles:

Ministry - "Flashback"
Drowning Pool - "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" (yeah, I know it's a popular new song and all... but I can't help it...)
KMFDM - "Ultra"
Green Jelly - "Orange Crunch"

And for the climactic battles:

Carl Orff - Carmina Burana - "Fortuna Imperatix Mundi"
GWAR - "The Horror of Yig"
Green Jelly - "Carnage Rules"

These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
