Ok, I read several of the articles and about the whole parallels between being gay and a geek and I think your case is one of the following:

1) Attempting to justify your hardships by comparing your plights with some one who does in fact have it worse. Ok, let me try this... Im a Mexican inmigrant in the U.S... my life is tough just like it was for african amrican slaves! Nah, sounds over the top. So does the whole gay and rpg thing.

2) No wait... maybe gay people and rpg players have a lott in common! Yeah, they are artsy imaginative people who... nah, scratch that again. Stereotypes aside Ive never met a gay individual who is too into role playing (in the conventional sense) and Im assuming that when I do he or she will just be another munchkin like most other male and female gamer.

3) Im cool with the whole gay thing! Nah... most of what is mentioned sounds homophobic and if by chance you are gay and therefore can "get away with saying whatever you want about the gay community" then the remarks just sound ignorant and attention starved.

4) Its hard being a closet gamer! Yeah well I never got beat up in high school over it because I had a reputation. Not all gamers are wimps and nerds with violent fantasies. Some of us just grew up reading great books and find it easier to pour their creativity into games than actually write noveles. There is something intimate, alive and cathartic about gaming.. its like trying to write around characters who wont always stay on the set or do what you expect them to. Still I didint mind not being able to talk "in character" on the bus with a fellow gamer... theres a place and a time and being a "flaming" gamer ruins the intimacy of the experience for me.

5) God damn... lets see... One guy has in depth views on rules, other on the art of war, an other one has great conections... as an article writter how can I get people to read me? --> This is not the most productive way, I'll tell you that.

Well, any ones agrees?
