 Fantasy easy?

I always felt that the fantasy genre was easier to work with then most other genres. I feel that this is one reason that fantasy books are so long and/or expand 3+ books. It is a rare day when I see a fantasy book that is not part of a series (the most I can think of a D&D novels.) I do not think it is a coincidence that Jordan has written 8 (?) books that are around 1000 pages each and that old GM who says that he has been running the same D&D game for 15+ years.

Personally, I found that fantasy is easier to run then any other genre in roleplaying. IMHO this has a lot to do with the world building. I also think people are familiar with the basic elements of fantasy and they except them. Fantasy themes are usually black and white while other genres work with more complex themes. Fantasy can use more complex themes but it doesn't have to, to be a great book/game.
