You wrote it out, spelled it correctly and even dotted the i. If
you have 4 conventions in your area with five tertiary conventions
to season the pot and you don't go to them. You created the problem
yourself.

Conventions are your friend. Really.

I would suggest that you make up short one time adventures, run them
at conventions. Most conventions will let you in free if you run games for them. There are the times when a "not-to-social" gamer
will rub you wrong, but its only for a short time. It could be worse,
it could be a plane flight and that weird noises he makes might be
something more than just a nervous tick.

On the plus side you will get to experience the playing methodologies of the people that sign up for your games. Get their email addresses and then send out invites to the ones you liked to play in a game at your home. You will also start to contribute back into you local
gaming community. (or contribute even more)

For me, It works everytime. The want ad never has.
