I had no clue what your article was about. I clicked on it. The first thing I did was scroll down two screens, hoping to get to the meat of the article. I still don't know what your fiction was about, nor do I really care.
You talk about showing instead of telling, but then what you actually suggest doing is telling. This is a game we're talking about, not your fiction, so "showing" is going to involve showing the game, all that fiction does is tell a story. No matter how you describe what the gameworld is like, that's not how it's actually going to be. The only way to "show" me the game is to get me in there playing it (which involves cutting away all the fat and getting me to what I need to play the game as quickly as possible), anything else is just telling.
