"In most fantasy settings, the closest you're going to get is an Indiana Jones style mine shaft and rolling ore carts on tracks. They're not usually covered, but they'd certainly force you to engage in up-close combat! Plus, you can work in that everything's-collapsing-around-you ploy to ratchet up the tension. I tell ya, the classics never get old."
What about the crowded under-decks of a ship? A sinking ship with panicked sailors trying to fight their way to the deck? A sinking slave-ship? The under-decks of a slave-galley? Inside a giant steam-driven war tank? Inside a settler's/merchant's wagon? A crowded stage-coach/carriage? This last one is essential for swashbuckling/western settings, especially when the driver gets shot off/falls off roaring drunk/has a heart attack...
OK, and just to go with your idea... The mine carts in that abandoned Dwarf mine. ;
