People who do movie review spend to much time on the cinematography and story depth, people watch movies for the actors and special effects. And since ameture have no real understanding of the owrk that went into the movie...
Please excuse the sarcasm, but reviews are opinions. When someone writes a review they should have read the book and considered all aspects of the book, and if the book is a supliment they should have a working knowledge of the core game. That aside you will often find proffesional movie reviewer who will judge all movies by the same standards, ie the plot of the X-Men movie was unbelievable.
Any artistic effort, be it books, movies, paintings, music or even RPGs can be enjoyed or hated on dozens of levels. I hated the movie brahm stokers dracula, but I loved the costuming, the acting, and the sets. I enjoyed parts of the movie and hated others.
What about RPG creators puts there works so high above other artists that they should not have to suffer the slings and arrows of critics or, gods forbid, ameture critics when every other artist does?
