I have (somewhere) a setting for a crossover rolemaster/spacemaster campaign which is set inside a hollow dark matter nebula. There's a few stars in there (maybe 20/30)with planets, so the sky's quite dark at night.
Always thought it was an interesting idea for a setting (and restricts the players to the area covered by the book, 'cause if they try to go too far out they hit the dark matter), though I never used it 'cause the idea of using both space- and rolemaster was too much to cope with, and I never got round to converting it.
