If you need info on Iceland, or any other place for and RPG setting, call the tourism board both locally here and in that area. You great great info. I've set plots in Singapore, New Orleans and London with that info, plus atlas and encyclopedias. You get enough flavor to make it feel a little real without being overwhelmed with details.
also-
I recently finished a book with a plot line similar to your outline. A genetisist starts a fertility clinic in the mountains of Northern Italy. And, though I hate to ruin the plot of a good story, the point I want to make isn't revealed until the very last pages of the book. So, If you plan on reading The Genesis Code by John Case, don't read any further!!!
Spoilers:
In this book, the Genesis Code, the genetisist (am I spelling that right?) uses blood samples from catholic holy relics to make clones and impregnates them into women coming to his fertility clinic. He ends up cloning Jesus and there is a whole Catholic crusade to stop him, kill all the cloned children and their mothers. Excellent book, cool story, great characters and the bad catholics, the Umbra Domini (I think I remember that correctly), are very WoD-esque.
