Being a Dane, I feel some concern when you guys repeatedly bring
up Finland in connection with Norse myth...
In reality, Finland was never too much part of all that, they had
their own beliefs - which were different from those of our ancestors
(there's the Kalevala and such, which I haven't read so far)...
The problem is that the ancient finnish are tied more closely
into the culture of the Hungary/Urals/Siberia-region than
scandinavia proper.
After a few hundred years of swedish occupation things did change,
obviously. But that period lies in the middle ages, and thus had
little to do with the mythological material at hand.
Iceland on the other hand is close to perfect...
...only, that might be where Surt resides... :)
